Dudjom New Treasure Dharma lineage traces its original back to the Dharmakaya Buddha Samantabhadra. Flowing from the Dharmakaya Samantabhadra, the Sambhokaya Vajrasattva and the Nirmanakaya Garab Dorje, the lineage continued in an uninterrupted succession through Manjushrimitra, Sri Simha, Guru Padmasambhava and Dakini Yeshe Tshogyal to the Great Terton Dudjom Lingpa (1835-1904, the 1st Dudjom). 
Dudjom Lingpa revealed Dudjom Tersar lineage which especially profound and appropriate for these times. Dudjom Lingpa prophesied he would be reborn in Pemako and this incarnation was H.H Terchen Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche (1904-1987, the 2nd Dudjom). Dudjom Lingpa's heart disciples, Gyurme Ngedon Wangpo transmitted the lineage to H.H Dudjom Rinpoche who then in turn passed on the lineage to H.H Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche. Garab Rinpoche received the transmission of this lineage directly from the aforementioned lineage holders, and in turn transmitted and brought the lineage and teachings to us.
Basically, Rinpoche holds two precious lineages namely, the blood lineage and the dharma lineage. At present, Rinpoche inherited the Great Perfection teachings and became the lineage holder of the most treasured teachings of the Dudjom New Treasure.
Dudjom Rinpoche once said: "Dudjom New Treasure is a precious and rare lineage; it is infact the heart essence of Dakinis." Dudjom lineage's teachings transmitted from Guru Padmasambhava to Dudjom Rinpoche and from Dudjom Rinpoche to us are a direct short lineage with the breaths of Dakinis lingering on it. Therefore, this lineage is uncontaminated and knows no degeneration by broken samayas and the blessing and attainments are immediate. This lineage is fresh, vivid and direct with no loss of meaning, words or blessings. The blessings are extreamely powerful, therefore it is called as a "warm" lineage. The contents of the lineage sadhanas are concise and complete, thus providing a systematic level-to-level essential oral instruction. For this reason, Dudjom New Treasure is valued as a gem of the contemporary Vajrayana and also the golden key to rapid enlightenment.
